  • Hi, the topic of executive education has really become a hot topic now a days. What i am still confused about is that what exactly is the difference between an executive MBA and a full time MBA and out of the two which is better and why?

    Today I thought we would do a little history lesson as there is not a lot of fun holiday's going on today. Today the first Morse Code was sent in 1844 from Washington DC to Baltimore MD. Morse Code was invented by Samuel Morse who patented the telegraph machine and the code that went with it. Morse was able to send 10 words a minute by 1838 and Congress set aside money to build a telegraph office and lines around the country.  We have Samuel Morse to thank for the early text message as it was with dots and dashes for each letter and today those who text shorten words to get his or her point across.

    It looks like we are going to have a nice day today with the rain leaving the area. I think the weatherman said a passing shower today I hope it just passes by us as we got enough rain yesterday.  Our temps today and through the weekend will be in the 70's this weekend and that will make for a nice holiday weekend. I'm kind of excited about the nice weekend.

    We made it to Friday everyone and a three day weekend is in front of us when we finish our 8 hours.  I know we are doing fairly well at the office in the way of requests. The stores have been cooperating with us and not sending in a lot of requests. I am liking this for sure. I am hoping the stores are nice through the holiday weekend and not send us a lot of work for Tuesday.

    After work it is off to school. I was able to get a chapter read last night and I want to read the next chapter before I answer my last discussion questions. I am starting to understand what I need to answer the question which is a plus.  There is not a lot of work for this week of class so I figure I will get what needs to get done on Sunday for gradeable work and then Monday start reading for the next week. I am looking forward to having a day off this weekend.

    Dinner tonight I am not sure what we will have. A friend of Mike's is in town and I am not sure if we will meet up with him or not. If not I will heat up some leftovers. Just an easy dinner I think should be in order for the night.

    Today we celebrate the humble Lucky Penny that people pick up on ground when they see it. Superstition says to only pick up a lucky penny when it is facing heads up. Do you do that?  The penny is a humble 1 cent that years ago actually bought something that people wanted like penny candy, today though and with inflation the penny does not buy anything at all. There has been talk by our government to get rid of the penny, but then we would not have a lucky penny. So today look out for those lucky penny's that are awaiting for you to pick them up. Remember if you are superstitious only pick them up when they are heads up.

    We are going to have another day of scattered showers here in Southeastern VA. Though our temps will be a little bit cooler as the temps will be in the 70's today. I know that it will be nice to walk with a little less mugginess during the day. The sunshine has been nice in the afternoon as it has helped me get my vitamin D in.

    Off to work in a bit but at least its Thursday and the weekend is right around the corner. I know we are doing fairly well with our requests and the stores have been nice not sending in a ton of requests. I have also been working a little everyday on my QA which is huge as I have said. I would love to finish it by Friday if possible.

    After work I am going to buckle down and get at least one chapter read. I was not able to read last night because I got home from the doctors so late, let me just say traffic was awful yesterday.  If all goes well I will be able to work on my second discussion question if not it will be done tomorrow. Participation is a must today so that will be done either as soon as I get home or while on lunch if it is raining.

    Dinner tonight is up in the air. I am not sure what we will have, it would be nice to grill the venison but it all depends on what time Mike gets home from his side job.

    As we move closer to the day we remember those who have fallen for this great country and look forward to a three day weekend to celebrate, we take a moment and celebrate National Burger Month. Where the burger was invented is up for grabs but my favorite place is back home in Connecticut where a gentleman tried to help a worker out and put a meat patty between two pieces of white bread. There were no condiments on the burger and the company does not have any to put on the burgers to this day. So as we head to the unofficial start to summer we look forward to making and eating some yummy burgers. What is your favorite type of burger?

    It is going to be another warm and stormy day here in Southeastern VA. The rain held off yesterday until the evening and all of sudden rolled into the area with thunderstorms to boot. Today will hopefully be the last day we have to worry about rain before we head into the weekend which they are predicting will be nice. Our temps today will be in the 70/80's and a bit muggy because of the moisture in the air.

    The workload was not too bad yesterday. Today hopefully is the same way. I will spend some time working on my deposit QA that I have been doing off and on over the past few days. Someone did a lot of work on the category so there are a lot of requests to do. I know before I leave on Friday I can get everything needed done.

    After work it is off to school. I was able to complete reading one chapter last night and tonight will read another and start on my discussion questions. I like it because the questions are not due until Monday but one will be done today and I will aim to get the other one answered by Friday.  There is not a lot of school this week, if I can get it done early that means I can work on the next weeks school work.

    Dinner tonight I am not sure, I am hoping Mike will come home and grill up those venison steaks. I am thinking some corn and potatoes to go with it.  Yum Yum

    However, we think it would also be a good idea to keep this little version going, and I'm particularly thinking of the confessions thread. We are all very close here, and it maybe that there are things you feel comfortable about posting on here you don't in a bigger group. So this is staying folks. Maybe at some point we can invite others we really trust to our inner circle but for now it will be our special place for those really personal things. Hugs to all heart

  • Good morning everyone,

    Today is National waitstaff day so if you are going out make sure you recognize your waiter or waitress today.  We show our appreciation for the waitstaff through our tip when they do a good job taking care of us when we are out for a meal.  Mike and I go a little further at our favorite spot to go and eat, every so often we bring the staff a home baked goodie, which they all devour.  I have to say they deserve it because the waitstaff at our favorite restaurant take good care of us.

    It is a summer like start to the day here in Southeastern VA. Our temps are in the muggy stages and should be in the 70/80's by the end of the day. It might be muggy this morning but I will still walk this morning and potentially this afternoon to get my cardio in. It looks like we will be in a summer like weather pattern for the week with chances of rain or thunderstorms as the day goes on.  I am just hoping we will have a nice day Saturday as we will be having a little Memorial Day BBQ.

    Well my three day weekend is over and I head back to work today.  I will find out what we have for work to do this morning when I get in. The office did not get a lot of work done yesterday because the big boss is in town and they went out to lunch and bowling. So to say the least we will have a lot of work to complete when we get home.

    After work it is home to start Cost Accounting. I am looking forward to getting back into my accounting classes. The countdown is on as the start of this class means I only have six classes left to my degree. I think I need to call my advisor to make sure that is all I have. I am looking forward to break when it is all over.

    Dinner tonight I am not sure what we will have. There is some leftovers in the fridge so that might just be dinner tonight. I will see what Mike is in the mood for later. Who knows he might want to grill the venison steaks I have marinating.

In a short span of time this mode of education has gained too much popularity that today millions of people benefit from it.


    Some of the benefits it offers which has marked its importance in the field of education and is making this mode of education the people's first choice include:

    So, looking forward to these factors people are more include to join courses like Executive MBA rather than joining full time MBA courses. So, basically the priorities are changing.

  • When I first turned 45 back in November, I really didn't give it much thought but I've realized over the past few months that I'm in an unhappy place. I apologize in advance if I ramble here; there's a lot to explain.

    My DH is almost 52 and we've been together 8 years, married 2.5. I was married twice before; he was married once before. I have 7 kids, ranging from 24 down to 1.5. The 3 youngest are with DH. DH and I both work at home. He has his own business and I work for a company that I've been with for 6 years now.

    I think the event that pushed me to realize that I'm having a crisis was that I got pregnant unexpectedly a few months ago and had a miscarriage just a few days after finding out I was pregnant. DH and I talked and at first, we both said we wanted to try again. I know what the odds are of having a successful pregnancy at this age so it's not as easy as just having sex whenever the mood strikes.

    There's a lot of stuff that would take hours to explain about our relationship, but I think it's sufficient to say that I've realized that this desire to have a new baby isn't 100% about having another child, but rather that I feel like I'm going through the motions each day and getting things done, but I'm lacking forward motion.

    I feel stuck and bored. I absolutely adore the kids and enjoy parenting the young ones now more than I did when I was younger. But it still feels like groundhog day -- every morning, the 3 year old wakes me up asking for juice. I get up and get the kids breakfast, put them in the bath, get them dressed, get their stuff ready for school...lather, rinse, repeat. I do my work through the day but I'm bored by it because it's not challenging or new any more. I've been looking at new houses because I'm even bored by our house.

    I'm also frustrated with DH because it seems like we have the same arguments over and over but nothing changes. He likes to work late at night so we rarely go to bed together and this has been going on for a couple of years. I've told him I just want him to come to bed with me a couple of times a week, but it happens rarely. His libido has been in the toilet for a couple of years and unless I initiate, nothing is going to happen. I'm tired of feeling like it's all on my shoulders to make sex happen and I've explained this, but he hasn't done anything about it, such as visiting the doctor. I even asked him what it was going to take for him to see this as a serious issue? Me sleeping with someone else?

    I don't even know what to do with my life any more.
