G'day folks, well I am at it again! I have just started my newest conversion, A Gulf War 1 Ferret Armoured Car Mk 1/2.
Here are a few shots of the commanders station and the beginning of the engine deck mounted stowage rack. I have also included a pick of the vehicle commander, a member of a HQ Troop embedded within 7th Armoured Division.
Close up gun mount pics are added for you especially Jock!
I will post more pics as I progress to give you all a clear idea on how I go about these Armoured car conversions, in particular the drivers hatch which I plan to photograph step by step.
Cheers.

How are the fires by you ?? I know COS is almost an hour south of you --just wondering how the "smoke" is up by you ??
I was sorry to hear that the fire effected the Royal Gorge park.
Those poor people who live in that area have really had it bad with forest fires these past few years.
- All the items I have for sale going to ebay tomorrow , so it's your last chance to get the offers in, many thanks..

I needed to make another card, in a hurry today. I am not much for making cards. I'd rather scrap. And I have trouble coming up with ideas for cards. It takes me forever.
I went and looked at some of the stuff I bought at the LSS yard sale. In one of the packets were two papers that worked well together that I would never use for a scrapbook page, but just begged to be made into a card. It was fast and easy. I didn't take time to scan the card because there wasn't time.
It may not have totally justified what I bought at the yard sale, but I did get some good stuff, and today I was so glad I had those papers to use!

My family took our second annual trip to Myrtle Beach, SC, last week. We stayed in the same condo building as last year--on the beach, within walking distance of a great breakfast spot--but in a different condo. We were on the first floor last year, and the third floor this year. If we go back to the same place next year, we think we'd like the second floor. We enjoyed the balcony more on the third floor, but going up and down the forty-nine steps several times a day can get tiring when there's a two-year-old involved!
Speaking of a two-year-old...here's her picture. She's sitting on the balcony with her father (who is one of the best daddies I know), and yes, that is a crown on her sunglasses. Her seven-year-old sister picked those out for her. The girls had a wonderful time at the beach, and the weather was good all week, except for Monday, which was our driving day, so it worked out all right.

the kindergarten teacher used sound muncher and math muncher as teaching aids (not trash cans, lol), they got married and had babies that the kids took turns babysitting toward the end of the year.

Today is "Eat Your Vegetables Day."
Yeah, I can do that. I usually have grape tomatoes for lunch and then some kind of veggie at dinner. I'd rather have fruit, but veggies will work.

I'm sure plenty of members spotted this on Ebay. I thought the hammer price of £183 a bit low for a genuine pre-production, so do people have their doubts on this, or was it merely that it wasn't it seen by enough people to drive the price up?
If it is a pre-production, presumably it's a late one because it has a complete date on the baseplate.
I have added the photographs from the listing for posterity's sake. -

Falmouth Week races are August 10 through 16 this year. Hawks entered in the Carrick PY day boat class, but we will get our own start with enough entries. I am planning on entering, happy to go with or without spinnaker to match the rest of the fleet. Any other takers?

It's been reported that Obama is due in to N Ireland today. To be honest I think he flew in last week and had been enjoying Guinness and Ulster Fries ever since, in between a bit of golfing in our famous Fermamagh Sunshine (drizzle). I was supposed to be heading to Enniskillen today but I think I'll give it a miss.
Has anyone suffered traffic problems due to the G8? -
Long time, no post, but my excuse is a year-long restoration of hull #75, Swallow. New roller furling and lazy jacks, electrical system, dodger and mainsail covers, lifelines, running rigging, and almost done with installation (by mechanic, not me) of Yanmar 10hp, single cylinder engine, fuel tank, vents etc. In yard now for new cutless bearing and shaft seal, reinstallation of Monitor windvane, new bottom paint, thru hull etc. Also new mahogany table. Cosmetics next now that she is cruise-ready again. BTW, the original water tank has pinhole leaks, so have cut large rectangular hole in top and planning to install bladder tank inside existing stainless tank. Other big item is reinforcing under the mast where it sits in the pan -- nothing between that and the hull except about six inches of air. Great boats -- solid, strong, overbuilt really but that's fine with me. Have loads of pictures and will post once I have sorted through them. Many thanks to David for this forum and generous advice. I went to church with my Dad. DH went to fly his RC plane so I sat down at my scrapping table with no guilty feelings. It felt good after the last few days.

OK, well here is how the dog is doing going into the 6th week. Last Thursday they did an ex-ray on the dogs foot & the toe bone is lining up nicely. However I am a skeptic & I will not be happy until I am 100% sure the dogs foot will be good.
I sold a brand new bow that I never used in order to help out the dog & the vet bills. Andy is thinking about buying my 9 pole Matrix that he will use for "Fire Sticks" & in time who knows, he may even use them as a Matrix & he could add a tenth pole for a better Matrix.
Anyhow if you believe in prayer then please pray for a good healing for the dog, otherwise positive vibes will also help.
I also got pet insurance this time.

Lefora won't let me post my pictures now, either! I was trying to upload pictures of my vinyl projects for Janice.
It flagged the post with the pictures as possible spam.

Just asking any opinions concerning the Collectorsweekly website. Does anyone find it decent for their collecting habits?

Repros aren't really my thing, but even a die-hard vintage collector inevitably picks up a few along the way.
These are bits I've identified as repros either because it is thankfully marked properly or using the excellent guides on VAME. They are no good to me, but maybe someone else would like them. Here goes:
Dogtags x2 (unknown repro - the "C" is too big)
Bails for cricket set (40th - according to Daz's excellent guide)
Order of the Kite for Jap soldier (Cotswold - stamped "CC" on the back)
Brown ammo pouch for Jap solder (possibly Cotswold? - stamped "China" on the back)
I haven't the faintest idea what they are worth. Possibly nothing. Say £5 including post?
-
Another question to pose...
Is there any difference in value between models with their original boxes as opposed to a loose model recently paired and upgraded with a correct style original (non-repro) box?
Thanks!

Got a few black rubber stoppers that were slightly to big to fit in the jerry cans. After reducing the diameter, they fitted.
They're not exactly the same, but good enough to me. What do you think ?

Been away from the VAM scene for some time now. Combination of Internet fatigue, the insiduous "other interests" and the UAMHQ going into terminal decline.
However, a few chance acquistions have reawakened the long lost pangs of delight I used to feel when gazing upon my VAM's & Joe's. So, I decided to put the afore-mentioned goodies to work and take a few snaps to get my hand back in. Got plans for quite a few scenes over the next few weeks but I thought I'd just start with this DPM outifit which I thought would create a pretty good Falklands era Royal Marine.

I have up for sale 4 scream n demons, there is a great thread about them here,The four i have are ,LUNATIC FRINGE (6503),CRAZY HORSE (6504),DOOM BUGGY (6501) and BIG BUZZARD
All share the same box but please note all boxes are poor and teared, three come with their leaflet, also they all share the same hard plastic type window front,2 of these are good ,one has broken glued corners and another has a small piece broke out, also two are missing a wire that i think acts has a stand. All the battery compartments are clean ,i tried fresh batteries in and all motors run ,all have their battery covers, but one does run continuiously? ,these are all the faults i can see ,the bikes and riders are in really good clean condition and will display really well.
I AM ASKING £80 FOR THE FOUR AND I WILL SELL SEPARATELY @ £20 EACH IF NO ONE BUYS ALL FOUR AFTER 7 DAYS BUT AT THE MOMENT I WOULD LIKE THEM TO STAY TOGETHER.
All replies if any to here first please has any reply here gets first call over pms
