  • well dd's doll and me tea party is coming along.  We've picked the date, and found some adorable invitations shaped like a teapot, you lift up the lid and the info accordian folds out.  Have been hitting good will and antique stores, so we have enough saucers, but only about 1/2 the tea cups we want, so still on the prowl for those and doilies in all sizesl.  Also found 2 plates so far for a very clever stack the 3 plates with glass candlesticks in between 3-tiered serving thing.  The colors will be pastel pink/purple with pastel green, yellow, and blue accents, which just happens to match the pastel tablecloth I have.  Lots of cute ideas to use my scrap stuff, patterned paper napkin rings with flowers, placetags with paper or silk flowers, cute little menus with ribbon, and then tiny menus for the dolls.  We are having way too much fun, but need to narrow it down!  I have way too many ideas printed from the internet!  For sure we are going to do cupcakes and mini pretend ones (she already has these), choc dipped oreos and mini dipped with sprinkles, fruit and minimarshmellow kabobs (thinking we can do little pom pom ones for the dolls?), and cute little flower or butterfly shaped crustless sandwiches (cream cheese and jelly, and/or cream cheese/cucumber?).  Tissue paper fans/flowers from the ceiling, and flowers in tea pots for vases.  Now I just really need to resist the urge to splurge on a new doll/me dress for dd.  I am resisting so far...
