Haleigh Cummings - A holiday without Haleigh
“It
was hard for her birthday, it’s hard today with it being
Thanksgiving…it’s hard to give thanks without her here,” said Sykes.
Starting next Monday with every order, not every item, you will get your choice of a vampire one card reading. You can also take a fairy reading your choice. You will get the card in the mail with your order.
New items will be going on the website later today and if for some reason you don't see them they will be on tomorrow.
All items but one that I placed on my Black Friday sales sold! I will have more great deals so look for them on the website.
For those in my class I will be going away on Monday and will not have access to chat. I will be back in a week. I can not put the trip off or I would.
You all have a great weekend.
Serviu de mote e inspiração.

Η Ελλάδα σάς πονάει;
«Στέλλα»;
Η «Στρέλλα» προτείνει ένα νέο, εναλλακτικό μοντέλο οικογένειας;
Εσείς έχετε ξεπεράσει το πρότυπο οικογένειας, τα στερεότυπα, αξίες και ταμπού, με τα οποία προφανώς –όπως όλοι– μεγαλώσατε, ή ακόμη παλεύετε γι’ αυτό;
Πόση τόλμη και τρέλα χρειάζεται για να εκθέσει κάποιος τη διαφορετικότητά του;
Π.:
απομονώνουν;
Πιστεύετε πως η σύγχρονη κοινωνία ακόμη σήμερα μάχεται το «διαφορετικό» απ’ όπου κι αν προέρχεται ή τα πράγματα έχουν αλλάξει;
δυνατόν;
«Στρέλλα», «Κυνόδοντας», «Ακαδημία Πλάτωνος». Είναι σύμπτωση ότι τρεις νέες ταινίες ασχολούνται με τη δομή της ελληνικής οικογένειας και κοινωνίας;
Εσείς ο ίδιος δηλώνετε γκέι. Ποια η άποψή σας για όσους φοβούνται ακόμη σήμερα να δηλώσουν τη διαφορετικότητά τους;
Πώς είχατε νιώσει όταν δέχθηκε τη «Στρέλλα» το Φεστιβάλ Βερολίνου, ενώ εξακολουθούσαν να την απορρίπτουν στην Ελλάδα;
Είστε μέλος των «Κινηματογραφιστών στην Oμίχλη». Υπάρχει ελπίδα να βγει κάτι σημαντικό από αυτή την κίνηση;
Στρέλλα - Μίνα: υπάρχουν κοινά σημεία; Πόσο δύσκολο ήταν να παίξετε αυτό το ρόλο – ακόμη κι αν ο χαρακτήρας σάς είναι οικείος;
Η οικογένεια είναι όντως «η κατάρα των τρανς», όπως λέει σε μια ατάκα της η Στρέλλα;
Πόσο δύσκολη είναι η καθημερινότητά σας στην Ελλάδα; Νιώθετε έκδηλα ρατσισμό γύρω σας;
μπορούσαν να είναι αλλιώς τα πράγματα; Να έχουν κανονικές δουλειές;
Η
Όταν διαβάσατε στο σενάριο το «μυστικό» της ταινίας, εκπλαγήκατε; Ποια ήταν η πρώτη σας αντίδραση;

Why Is It Always The Green Shirt
Police say 35-year-old Paul Michael Mirhage opened fire on his own family in Jupiter, Florida, Thursday night just after the Thanksgiving dinner. They say he was an invited guest who walked outside and came back in and started shooting, killing his twin 33-year-old sisters; one of them was pregnant Mirhage is also accused of killing a 79-year-old aunt and a 6-year-old cousin who was already in her bed.
Police in Jupiter, Florida, and in Birmingham, Michigan, have put out an alert, because Mirhage is on the run and believed to be heavily armed. He may have lived in the Birmingham area for a short time within the past year or so, and may have seen a doctor here.

Alyssa Bustamante "wanted to Know What it Felt Like" to Kill a Human Being
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. David Rice, Alyssa
Bustamante, 15, wanted to "know what it felt like" to kill another
human being .As such, on October 21, Bustamante killed 9-year-old
Elizabeth Olten by strangulation, cutting her throat and stabbing her.

The stars always interacted with the teen child killer period! You can not separating the human mind from the star's interaction. That is a huge mistake for everybody can not read based on criminal psychology, but I can read anyone on the spot in less than a minutes. Do you know why I mention it? Because Pluto rules death, sex, drama, the underworld, the police, criminals, and wake up calls and is EVIL him/herself. Without Cosmic Consciousness, Nobody can answer you a question what it means to be human or the real reasons behind criminal minds, not even a bunch of traditionally educated psychologists / psychiatrists professionals and medical students.
Anytime death/bloody drama is involved and
always based on criminal psychology to always check the position of
Pluto. Pluto is called in Greek Mythology the Lord of Death and Hades
is the lord of the dead and ruler of the nether world.

Notice all the kids in the video have skulls on their shirts. They seem
spoiled and misguided because of the design on their shirts. If you
look at it closely the girl is wearing a "Nightmare Before Christmas"
or "Pirates of the Carribean" movies that have come out and have been
really popular. The third kid looks like he's wearing a "Punisher"

Weijia Jiang reports the search is now on for his killer.
When twenty-one-year-old Angelo Dangerfield's mother looked out the back window of their Cherry Hill home and saw a dead body, she called her son's name for help, but he didn't answer.
"By the time she got down there, someone else had called police. She got there; they were turning him over, and it was my brother," said Stacey Rawlings, victim's sister.
Dangerfield's family members describe the Southwestern High School graduate as a well-known community youth leader, very involved with programs like 4-H and determined to go to college one day.
"He was happy about life. He wanted to do something with his life. He wanted to move him and his mom from out this neighborhood," said Shawanda Rawlings, victim's cousin.
Dangerfield was walking his pit bull named Princess when he was shot early Wednesday morning.
"He's just an all around good guy," said the victim's brother-in-law.
Police say video surveillance cameras captured Dangerfield walking Princess but by the time the camera panned around once, he was on the ground.
"We know this was a good young man. We have a lot of homicides and shootings in Baltimore City where a lot of times the victims bring baggage along with them. In this case, this young man has no criminal history," said Det. Donnie Moses, Baltimore City Police.
The homicide marks the third high profile case of seemingly random violence in Cherry Hill this year.
In August, community activist Shirley Foulks was shot in the shoulder while sitting on her couch. In October, a 13-year-old was doing her homework inside her home when a stray bullet struck her.
The neighborhood has held many walks to protest the violence -- the very violence that took a young man's life.
"It's like a dream, a nightmare, not even reality, heartbreaking," said Shawanda.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to call police.

Thursday in Jupiter, a small
beach town about 90 miles north of Miami that is best known as a home
to celebrities including Michael Jordan and Burt Reynolds. The
little girl was sleeping in her bed when she was shot, police said. A
fifth man was critically wounded and a sixth was treated at the scene
for a gunshot graze. Jupiter Police Sgt. Scott Pascarella said
officers were looking for Paul Michael Merhige, 35, of Miami.
Merhige
is a cousin of the 6-year-old victim, Makayla Sitton, and has no
criminal record, police said.
Police across South
Florida and the U.S. Marshals Service were searching for Merhige.
Pascarella said Merhige is believed to be driving a blue 2007 4-door
Toyota Camry with Florida license plate W42 7JT. Pascarella
said police received a 911 call from a neighbor shortly after 10 p.m.
Police then received a second 911 call from someone within the home,
which is owned by a local TV videojournalist and his wife. Makayla
Sitton is the photojournalist's daughter. Pascarella said the
shootings took place inside the house. He said that sometime after
Thanksgiving dinner, Merhige left the residence and returned shortly
afterward with a handgun. "What led to this incident, we're
not quite sure," said Pascarella.
"It did not appear there was any
altercation prior to this shooting." Pascarella said there was
an "ongoing resentment" in the family, but didn't know the nature of
the problem or whether the victims were specifically targeted.
Police said the home was owned by Jim Sitton, a photojournalist for
WPTV-TV. Sitton told WPTV his daughter was in bed when she was shot. He
was at the party at the time of the shooting but was not wounded.
Yellow crime scene tape was stretched around Sitton's salmon-colored
house, located in a well-kept subdivision of stucco homes. Several cars
were parked in the driveway, and a crime scene van sat in front.
Sitton told local media that his daughter was supposed to perform Friday in a holiday production of "The Nutcracker."
"God packed a lot of sweetness into that little body," Sitton said.
"She's just our life. I don't know how we are ever going to recover."
The relationship between Sitton and Paul Merhige was unclear, police said. Phone calls to a number listed for Paul Merhige were not answered. A phone call to Sitton also was not returned. At a house in southwest Miami-Dade where family members had gathered late Friday morning, relatives declined to comment. Neighbors in the Palm Beach County community were shocked.
"Our kids walk the streets by themselves," said Nicole Kemp, 67, who did not know any of the victims. "I thought it was the safest place to live. I guess it doesn't matter, if there's a maniac here."
It's unclear where the adult victims lived. Carla Merhige was a real estate agent in Miami, said a co-worker. "She was a wonderful agent," said Joanna Sherman, a manager at Coldwell Banker Residential real estate. "She was very active in the community and in charities. She was just a genuine, beautiful individual. She always had a smile for everybody."
JUPITER, Fla. (AP) - Authorities in Florida were searching Saturday for a man police said opened fire on his family after Thanksgiving dinner and killed four people, including his pregnant sister and a 6-year-old cousin who was sleeping in her bed.
There had been
"ongoing resentment" in the family, but investigators weren't sure what
specifically prompted the shooting, officials said. Police were looking
for Paul Michael Merhige, 35, of Miami. He was believed to be driving a
royal blue 2007 Toyota Camry with a rear spoiler and Florida license
plate.
Merhige is also accused of gunning down his pregnant sister's twin and his 79-year-old aunt.
"What
led to this incident, we're not quite sure," said Jupiter Police Sgt.
Scott Pascarella. "It did not appear there was any altercation prior to
this shooting."
Pascarella said Merhige left
briefly before returning to the home where 17 relatives had gathered in
Jupiter, a small beach town about 90 miles north of Miami. The town is
known as a home to celebrities including Michael Jordan and Burt
Reynolds.
Pascarella said police first received a
911 call from a neighbor, then another from someone inside the home.
The residence, in a well-kept new subdivision with brick-paved
driveways, is owned by local TV videojournalist Jim Sitton and his
wife. The home was surrounded Friday by yellow crime scene tape and

Sitton's daughter Makayla had gone to bed before the rampage, police said.
"God
packed a lot of sweetness into that little body," Sitton said. "She's
just our life. I don't know how we are ever going to recover."
Sitton
told local media that his daughter was supposed to perform in a holiday
production of "The Nutcracker." The Florida Classical Ballet Theatre
had two shows Friday.
"Makayla was part of our
family, and as one of the youngest dancers, she was to be one of Mother
Ginger's Children," artistic director Colleen Smith said. "She was a
beautiful, dear girl. She was a beam."
The other
victims were Merhige's twin sisters, Carla Merhige and Lisa Knight, and
an aunt, Raymonde Joseph. Merhige's brother-in-law Patrick Knight was
in critical but stable condition at a local hospital. Another man,
Clifford Gebara, 52, was grazed by a bullet.
Carla Merhige was a real estate agent in Miami.
"She
was a wonderful agent," said Joanna Sherman, a manager at Coldwell
Banker Residential real estate. "She was very active in the community
and in charities. She was just a genuine, beautiful individual. She
always had a smile for everybody."
Neighbors in the Palm Beach County community were shocked as police processed the home.
"Our
kids walk the streets by themselves," said Nicole Kemp, 67, who did not
know any of the victims. "I thought it was the safest place to live. I
guess it doesn't matter, if there's a maniac here."
HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. - When the envelope arrived, Windy Horner was talking with her husband, Nick - Windy on a cell phone, Nick in the Blair County jail.
Windy Horner did not recognize the return address. She feared hate
mail; her husband is charged with killing two men and robbing a
sandwich shop, and she blames his actions on posttraumatic stress
disorder from his service in Iraq. Others do not agree.
Now, she wondered: Should she open the envelope? Go ahead, Nick Horner said.
The note was from a stranger, Laurie Claar. It was written on a card
decorated with a rainbow and flowers, bearing the message, "Caring
Thoughts Are With You."
"I'm not sure what to say to you all except I understand and you all
are in my prayers," Claar wrote. "And I don't think bad of Nick as he
needs help to deal with PTSD."
Her words reached a young couple sorely in need of encouragement.
"I could hear him tearing up in his voice," Windy Horner said of her husband. "It was like, 'Maybe we're not alone in this.' "
They were not. Claar, too, had been devastated by the war come home.
And so began the unlikely friendship of Claar, a 49-year-old
grandmother of five, and Windy Horner, a petite blonde the same age as
Claar's youngest daughter.
They are linked by tragedy, but also by a shared conviction that the
military does an excellent job of keeping troops alive during combat -
but not so well at keeping them healthy afterward.
On April 26, Claar sat in the darkness next to her son's grave, waiting for the clock to strike 11:04 p.m.
Exactly 25 years before, Matthew Claar had been born.
"I just had to be there at that time," Claar said tearfully.
More than seven months before his mother's vigil, fueled by guilt
and PTSD, the Marine Corps veteran had pulled the trigger on the 9mm
pistol in his mouth.
In Iraq, he hunted house-to-house for insurgents, including one Matt
shot several times. "Even when Matt told me that, he was shrugging it
off," said Matt's father, Roy "Bud" Claar Jr. "But I could see in his
face there was more to it than he was letting on."
His four-year hitch ended in 2006. When he came home, he was moody
and unpredictable. He was arrested twice for drunken driving in one
15-day stretch.
But he was not screened, diagnosed, and treated for PTSD until after
he was treated at a VA hospital for a work-related injury, a few months
before he killed himself on Sept. 21, 2008.
Laurie Claar was moved by newspaper accounts of the charges against Nick Horner, a 29-year-old Army veteran.
On April 6, prosecutors say, Nick Horner - a veteran of three combat
deployments - banged on a rear door of an Altoona Subway sandwich shop
and fatally shot the clerk who opened it, Scott Garlick, 19. Then, Nick
Horner ran down the street and allegedly gunned down Raymond Williams,
64, a retiree gathering his mail.
On June 3, the Altoona Mirror published a hand-printed letter Nick
Horner mailed from jail, apologizing for and attempting to explain what
he had done:
"I'm not looking for forgiveness or simphy [sic]. I just want people
to watch for PTSD cases. There are so many of them. This needs to
stop!" Nick Horner wrote.
That day, Laurie Claar mailed the greeting card to the Horners.
Windy Horner called the cell phone number in Laurie Claar's card.
After visiting her husband one day, she met one of Laurie Claar's
daughters, Autumn Houck, 30, across the street from the jail, and
followed her to the Claars' home in Hollidaysburg, seven miles from
Altoona.
Windy Horner spent hours sharing pizza and doughnuts and stories
about Nick Horner and Matt Claar with Laurie Claar's husband, children,
and grandchildren.
They shared tales of frightful nights when Nick Horner and Matt
Claar brandished guns and insisted on "clearing" their homes, room by
room, military-style, looking for "enemies." Nick Horner, too, had been
arrested for drunken driving since his return.
In Iraq, Nick Horner searched for roadside bombs, and Windy Horner
said he was traumatized by children killed by the artillery that
cleared the way for his Army unit.
Windy Horner said the Army took Nick Horner's gun away the last time
he was in Iraq, in 2008, after he cleared his barracks there, too. He
was discharged because of PTSD in January.
Back in the States, she said, Nick Horner sometimes attacked her in
bed at night - as though she were an enemy - only to "wake up" or snap
out of what seemed like a trance and not remember a thing.
That is one reason she believed Nick Horner when he told a
court-appointed psychiatrist that he did not actually remember the
shootings and robbery - though he has no reason to doubt them.
Months before his arrest, Windy Horner recalled, a VA counselor told her to get used to having a broken husband.
"She told me, 'Your husband died in Iraq. You're either going to have to deal with that or move on,' " Windy Horner said.
The prosecutor in Nick Horner's case, Blair County District Attorney
Richard Consiglio, said that five million Americans have PTSD and that
that "alone is not a defense to any crime."
And in a statement, the families of the victims said his trial
"should be an examination of the criminal actions of Nicholas Horner
and not a referendum on the military's handling of our country's
soldiers."

Mangiantini,
48, put a gun in his mouth Wednesday morning after shooting his wife,
Elizabeth Mangiantini, 46, once in the head, according to the DuPage
County coroner. Mangiantini also shot his son Thomas Jr., 8, once in
the head, and his son Angelo, 12, suffered gunshot wounds to the head,
according to the coroner.
The Rev. Mark Jendrysik, of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Addison, said Friday that the family planned to have a funeral mass at the church but that the time had not been decided. Arrangements were to be handled by Salerno's Rosedale Chapels in Roselle. A spokesman for Elizabeth Mangiantini's family said Friday that relatives were setting up a memorial fund but did not have details.
Meanwhile on Friday, as many as six Addison police
vehicles were parked in front of the Mangiantinis' home on Wisconsin
Avenue. Next-door neighbor Dorothy Savaglio said police had removed and
returned boxes from the house over the past two days.

That says it all...

Two
suspects in what police described as the "gruesome" killing of South
Charleston resident James Andrew Gillespie are now in custody after
each turned himself in to police in separate circumstances without
incident Saturday.
Teens Drinking with Victim Prior to 'Gruesome' Murder, Police Say
A fight over prescription drugs led to the murder of a South Charleston man, according to the criminal complaint.

South Charleston Police Sgt. Michael Greathouse said a lawyer for Michael Thompson called early Saturday to say his client wanted to turn himself in. Greathouse was one of four officers who went to an address on Pinch Street in South Charleston to get Thompson.
"I don't know what connection the house had to anyone, but we were told he would be waiting on the steps," Greathouse said.
He also said the suspect, who is 18, had nothing to say, acting on the advice of his lawyer.
Police continued to search for the second suspect, Jimmy Eugene Thompson, 19, of 505 E St., South Charleston, hours after the first turned himself in.
But negotiations resulted in Jimmy Thompson turning himself in a few hours later. The two men are not related.
South Charleston Police Chief Brad Rinehart said that he and other officers had been negotiating with "mutual parties" to have the second Thompson turn himself in.
Rinehart said, "I want to reassure neighbors in that area that this was an isolated incident. The detective bureau has been working around the clock, and this shows their dedication."
Rinehart said Jimmy Thompson will be arraigned and likely taken to the South Central Regional Jail.
Police think both men knew Gillespie, who was found dead in his Macon Street home in South Charleston on Friday.
Police say both men had been in the victim's home earlier in the day drinking, according to a report Detective A.R. Gordon filed in Kanawha County Magistrate's Court after the first suspect was arrested.
A witness told police the men "were going to steal the victim's prescription medication." According to the police report, as soon as the victim realized his prescription drugs could be stolen, one suspect punched the victim in the face.
The witness who later contacted police fled as soon as he saw a suspect punch the victim, according to the same report.
Detective J.D. Gray of the South Charleston Police Department said a medical examiner performed an autopsy on Gillespie on Saturday, but he declined to give details.
According to Gordon's report in Magistrate's Court, Gillespie had been beaten and stabbed numerous times. After an appearance before a magistrate, Michael Thompson was taken to the South Central Regional Jail where he was being held without bond on a murder charge.
Investigators say a 14-year-old Sunnyside girl was killed after saying she would report that she had been raped.
The 22-year-old Outlook man suspected of slashing her throat and leaving her to bleed to death next to an irrigation canal was ordered held on $500,000 bail at his first court hearing in the case Wednesday afternoon.
Jesus Fabian Perales was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of
first-degree murder in the October 2008 death of Francisca
Hernandez-Ramirez.
The girl's body was discovered in February in the Yakima River near Prosser.
She had been missing since Oct. 20, 2008, and was identified in
February through dental records. Her family had reported her as a
runaway shortly after she disappeared.
Perales fled the Yakima Valley after Hernandez-Ramirez's death, but
authorities said they learned last week that he had returned.
An arrest report by Yakima County sheriff's detectives gave the following account:
Hernandez-Ramirez, the suspect and several others had been drinking and playing cards at a home in Outlook.
One of the men at the party found Hernandez-Ramirez passed out on
the bathroom floor. After he helped her up, she said she wanted to go
home.
That man and the suspect then drove her toward Sunnyside. Midway
through the trip, she started screaming that she had been raped by
another male at the party.
The men drove around the area while deciding what to do.
They decided to drop her off in an orchard, hoping that she would forget what happened when she awoke.
The suspect told the other man, who was driving, that he would deposit the girl, then return to the vehicle.
When he came back, the driver asked if she was all right, and Perales said she was "good."
The autopsy found that her throat had been cut, severing both carotid arteries.
The next day, Perales returned and told the driver he needed to sell
or destroy the car because it might contain evidence of
Hernandez-Ramirez's death.
He also threatened to kill the driver or his family if he went to police.
Hernandez was the third teenage girl to be found dead in the Yakima Valley in the 18 months leading up to her death.
Jaqueline Abundez, 17, of Grandview was discovered in a Lower Valley
canal in July 2008 with shotgun wounds to her chest. And 14-year-old
Jaleeza Lobdell of Tacoma was found in an orchard near Moxee in
September 2007. Detectives suspect Lobdell died of a drug overdose.
Police do not believe the deaths are related. No arrests have been reported in the other two cases.

| 14-year-old Francisca Hernandez-Ramirez went missing last October after getting a ride home with two men. |
Last October, 14-year-old Francisca Hernandez-Ramirez was at a party in a house outside of Yakima. Why Hernandez was drinking and playing cards late at night when most girls her age were fast asleep is unknown. But more of what happened to Hernandez later that evening has now come to light after police arrested 22-year-old Jesus Fabian Perales and charged him with her murder.
According to investigators, Hernandez was found passed out in the
bathroom by a man who she then asked for a ride home. The man and
Perales were halfway back to Hernandez's house when she apparently
began screaming that someone had raped her at the party. Not knowing
what to do, the two men decided it'd be best if they dropped Hernandez
in an orchard, with the oddly misguided hope that the young drunk girl
would sleep off the evening and forget what happened to her.
When
it came time to drop her off, investigators say the man waited as
Perales escorted Hernandez out of the car. When Perales returned, he
allegedly told the man that Hernandez was "good." A claim that would
prove grossly untrue four months later, when Hernandez's body was found
next to an irrigation ditch with her throat slit.
Perales fled the Yakima Valley for California shortly after
Hernandez's disappearance. But investigators say they were tipped off
last week that he was back in town. He's currently being held on
$500,000 bond on suspicion of first-degree murder.
Francisca Hernandez-Ramirez disappeared last October. Her parents say she went to a party and never came home. Her body was found near Prosser in the Yakima River in February.
Police had a suspect in mind, 22-year-old Jesus Perales, but he fled to California.
" The information we have going back to spring of this year, it wasn't until late last week that detectives with the violent crimes task force, working on another matter, developed information that indicated the suspect had returned to the Yakima Valley," said Stew Graham with the Yakima Sheriff's Office.
Perales was arrested Tuesday. His prelimary hearing was scheduled for Wednesday.
YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — Police in Yakima say a 14-year-old girl was killed
by a 22-year-old man to keep her from reporting she was raped.
The Yakima Herald-Republic reports Jesus Fabian Perales was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of first-degree murder. He made his first court appearance Wednesday. Police say Perales slashed Francisca Hernandez-Ramirez's throat and left her to bleed to death next to an irrigation canal in October 2008.
Her body was not discovered until February in the Yakima River and was identified by dental records. Perales had left Yakima after the girl's death, but came back recently. The Yakima County Sheriff's office says Perales and another man drove the girl to an orchard after finding her passed out at a party.
In the car, the girl screamed she was raped by man. Perales then allegedly killed her and threatened the other man. ___

Shaquille
O'Neal secretly paid for little Shaniya's funeral. He wanted her
funeral to be "as beautiful as she was". The story touched Shaq, as it
did our nation. This story has gone past touching the nation; people
from across the world are still mourning the death of Shaniya
I did an article on Shaniya Davis and asked for comments from readers. I wanted to hear other's thoughts, maybe because I too cannot get Shaniya's tragic story out of my mind and wanted to know how others were dealing with this. The overwhelming responses from people are still coming in. Washington, California, Michigan, Connecticut, and every other state have been heard from.
One of the biggest
surprises out of all the response was from a woman sending a Dutch
Condolence registry site from the Netherlands. Her name is Lisa. She
stresses that Shaniya's story has brought many to the conclusion that
we need to look after each other's children.
As of this
morning, there are 148 people who have said a few words for this little
5 year old angel who was murder half way around the world from these
wonderful people. I have added a link to it here: A Dutch Condolence Registry for Shaniya Davis.
I do not read the language, but the shear numbers of quotes that are
listed here speaks volumes to me. Here is the comment I received from
Lisa.
A memorial takes shape at the Mangiantini family's home on Wisconsin Street in Addison.
(Tribune photo by Chris Sweda / November 26, 2009) |
Addison Police Chief Tim Hayden said the one-page, handwritten note discovered by police late Wednesday did not allude to any financial problems or troubles in the Mangiantini marriage, but he would not disclose the actual contents because he had not discussed it with family members. The DuPage County coroner, who performed the autopsies Thursday, said Mangiantini, 48, put a gun in his mouth after shooting his wife, Elizabeth, 46, once in the head. Mangiantini also shot his son Thomas Jr., 8, once in the head, and his other son, Angelo, 12, suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the head.
A preliminary police investigation indicates the family did not have issues with credit card debt or face the possibility of losing their home to foreclosure, Hayden said.
"He didn't mention financial problems in the note," Hayden said, refuting reports that Mangiantini had recently lost his printing job. But police and friends said his hours had been reduced and his wife had been laid off in the spring from Ford Motor Co.
"She had a severance period; following that she could have applied for unemployment. The father was still employed," Hayden said.
DuPage County records showed no filings for separation of marriage or prior domestic contact with police, Hayden said. Two guns were recovered from the scene, both of which police say Mangiantini used. Authorities have not determined to whom the guns were registered, Hayden said. Two shots were heard in the background of the desperate 911 call that Elizabeth Mangiantini made around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.
"It was just a few short words. It was something to the effect of, 'Please help me. Help me, help me,' " Hayden said.
The boys were found upstairs in their beds in a shared bedroom. Thomas Mangiantini also was found in an upstairs bedroom, and his wife was discovered in a hallway downstairs. Hayden said she had no signs of defensive wounds.
Addison police continued to process the scene Thursday and plan to continue through Saturday, Hayden said, adding, "Something will reveal itself as the investigation moves along."
The family were members of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Addison, where prayers were offered for them during Thanksgiving Mass, said the Rev. Mark Jendrysik.
"Today, there were a lot of tears being shared before and after Mass," he said.
Jendrysik said the family regularly attended Mass and many church functions. Thomas Jr. and Angelo were in the religious education program.
"Angelo was always very active, involved in the discussions and eager to know more," Jendrysik said. "Tommy wanted to play the part of Jesus, because that's who he wanted to be like."
The deaths weighed heavily on neighbors, with some deciding to move their Thanksgiving meals to other locations, said next-door neighbor Dorothy Savaglio, one who made the change.
"We don't want to have the kids see the crime tape. We're supposed to be thankful today," she said, adding that it would be difficult to explain to children who knew the Mangiantini boys why they won't see their friends at school on Monday.
John Langton, superintendent of Addison School District 4, said Tommy was a second-grader at Fullerton Elementary School, and Angelo was in sixth grade at Indian Trail Junior High School.
Elizabeth Mangiantini was active in the PTA at Fullerton, Langton said.
"I know that once she lost her job, as difficult as that was for the family, I've had a couple people tell me that she was excited to be a stay-at-home mom," he said.
Tribune reporter Stacy St. Clair contributed to this report.
No one was at the Kendall home Friday where Merhige, 35, lived with his parents. The Palm Beach Post reports that Merhige was an honor student at Gulliver Academy in Pinecrest and at the University of Miami. Luis Sanchez, the family's long-time handyman, described Merhige as a "conflictive" person, as he spoke with reporters outside the family home.
Among those shot dead were Merhige's twin sisters, Carla, and Lisa Merhige Knight, both 34. Carla was a project coordinator for the Miami-Dade Guardian Ad Litem program for needy children. She lived in a gated community just a few blocks from her parents' home in Kendall. Lisa Merhige was a real-estate salesperson for Coldwell Banker in Pincrest. She worked with her mother, Carol, also a realtor. Lisa's husband, Patrick Knight, a Miami attorney, was shot and wounded in the Thursday night rampage and remains hospitalized.
Lisa was pregnant with the couple's first child.
Co-worker Miguel Arrellano described Lisa Merhige as a "very loving, very caring" person.
Neighbors say the Merhige family was very close. "I'm in shock. It's such a tragedy," said neighbor Cindy Alperin. "They are wonderful people, just wonderful people."
Television news trucks lined the street in front of the family's home on Southwest 88th Avenue in an upscale neighborhood near U.S. 1. A police officer sat in a squad car at the end of the street, apparently keeping watch in case the suspect, Michael Merhige, should return home.
Police said 17 relatives were in the house when the shootings were reported around 10 p.m. Thursday in Jupiter, a small, well-off beach town about 90 miles north of Miami that is best known as a home to celebrities including Michael Jordan and Burt Reynolds.
Jupiter Police Sgt. Scott
Pascarella said officers were looking for Paul Michael Merhige, 35, of
Miami. Merhige is a cousin of the 6-year-old victim, Makayla Sitton,
and has no criminal record, police said.
The others killed were
Merhige's twin sisters, Carla and Lisa Merhige, 33, and an aunt,
Raymonde Joseph, 76, according to police. Police say Lisa was pregrant
but have not released how far along she was in the pregnancy.
Authorities
said a fifth victim, Merhige's brother-in-law Patrick McKnight, was
being treated at a hospital. His condition was not available.
Police
across South Florida and the U.S. Marshals Service were searching for
Merhige. Pascarella said Merhige is believed to be driving a blue 2007
4-door Toyota Camry with Florida license plate W42 7JT.
Pascarella
said police received a 911 call from a neighbor shortly after 10 p.m.
Police then received a second 911 call from someone within the home.
Pascarella says the shootings took place inside the house.
"What
led to this incident, we're not quite sure," said Pascarella. "It did
not appear there was any altercation prior to this shooting."
Police
said the home was owned by Jim Sitton, a photojournalist for WPTV-TV
and father of the little girl killed. Sitton told WPTV his daughter was
in bed when she was shot. He was at the party at the time of the
shooting but was not wounded.
Yellow crime scene tape was
stretched around Sitton's salmon-colored house, located in a well-kept
subdivision of stucco homes. Several cars were parked in the driveway,
and a crime scene van sat in front.
Sitton told local media that his daughter was supposed to perform Friday in a holiday production of "The Nutcracker."
"God
packed a lot of sweetness into that little body," Sitton said. "She's
just our life. I don't know how we are ever going to recover."
The relationship between Sitton and Paul Merhige was unclear, police said.
Phone calls to a number listed for Paul Merhige were not answered. A phone call to Sitton was also not returned.
Neighbors in the Palm Beach County community were shocked.
"Our
kids walk the streets by themselves," said 67-year-old Nicole Kemp, who
did not know any of the victims. "I thought it was the safest place to
live. I guess it doesn't matter, if there's a maniac here."
It's unclear where the adult victims lived. Carla Merhige was a real estate agent in Miami, said a co-worker.
"She
was a wonderful agent," said Joanna Sherman, a manager at Coldwell
Banker Residential real estate. "She was very active in the community
and in charities. She was just a genuine, beautiful individual. She
always had a smile for everybody."

A neighbor, Luis Sanchez, 56, who does handy man work for many of the families in the neighborhood, said he knew the Merhiges family well. He had done work at their home over the past six years. He reported that Merhige had a history of mental illness and suicide attempts.
The house is owned and lived in by Merhige's parents, Michael and Carole, their three children, Paul Merhige and their twins, Carla and Lisa, would visit often. The twin women were killed in the shooting by their brother, Paul Merhige. Merhige also shot and killed a six year old girl, a cousin, as she was sleeping at the house. Another relative, an aunt, was also killed.
Paul Michael Merhige Thanksgiving massacre killed four people and injured two others, one critically. All six people were relatives.
Luis Sanchez said, "They are wonderful people," when speaking about Merhige's parents. He goes on to say, "The fact is with this they have lost all three of their children all at the same time and I can't imagine how painful that must be for them. The fact that the twin sisters came into life together and then died on the same day too; my God!"
Paul Michael Merhige was an honors student when he attended the University of Miami in the early 1990's. According to the Miami Herald archives, he was a top scholar on the National Advanced Placement (AP) test. He also earned scholarships playing football in high school.
His educational achievements bear an eerie similarity to what was known about the Fort Hoot Shooter. They are both very bright and highly intelligent men, who did unspeakable acts to the people close to them.
Sanchez referred to Paul Merhige as "a conflictive person." The newspaper did not elaborate on this comment. A search by the newspaper had produced no findings that Paul Merhige had ever been treated for mental illness. There was nothing in the story to substantiate the claim. The only reference to Merhige is that he "was a very conflicted person.
JUPITER, Fla. – The police and federal marshals fanned out across South Florida on Friday in the hunt for a man they said had left a Thanksgiving dinner crowded with relatives in this upscale beachfront community and returned with a handgun, opening fire and killing his twin sisters, an aunt and a 6-year-old cousin. Two other people were wounded.
The suspect, Paul Michael Merhige, 35, joined 16 relatives and
friends at the dinner Thursday at the home of his cousin, Muriel
Sitton, and her husband, Jim Sitton, a cameraman for a local station,
WPTV. At some point, Merhige left the gathering and "returned a short
time later," according to a police statement.
"As he stood inside the residence, he began shooting the victims without warning," the statement said.
Three people were killed almost instantly. They were identified by
the police as the suspect’s 33-year-old twin sisters, Carla Merhige and
Lisa Knight, who was pregnant, and Merhige’s aunt, Raymonde Joseph, 76.
The fourth person who died was the Sittons’ daughter and only child,
Makayla, 6, who was shot as she slept in her bed. She died while being
flown by helicopter to a hospital.
Lisa Knight’s husband, Patrick Knight, 37, was wounded and taken to
a hospital, where he was in stable condition, and a cousin, Clifford
Gebara, 52, was treated for minor injuries and released.
According to the Jupiter police, Merhige, who lives in the Miami
area about 90 miles south of Jupiter and had been a top scholar and
athlete at the prestigious Gulliver Preparatory School, fled the home
in his blue Toyota Camry, before the police and rescue workers arrived
on the scene.
Officer Sally Collins-Ortiz said the local and state authorities
were still searching for Merhige late Friday. He was considered armed
and dangerous. Collins-Ortiz said the motive for the killings remained
unclear, though witnesses said Merhige "had some ongoing resentment
against some family members."
"We still don’t know what the problem was, but obviously it must
have been something serious," said the officer, standing outside the
home surrounded by police tape.
The quadruple homicide in the normally quiet town, frequented by
tourists and home to celebrities like the former NBA superstar Michael
Jordan, shocked residents of the large stucco homes along the street
lined with palm trees and expensive cars.
"This is a really nice neighborhood," said Paul Turano, originally
from Long Island, N.Y., who with his wife, Carole, moved to Jupiter
three months ago. "It’s a place where children play in the streets, no
problem. It’s normally very quiet here."

The case of 15-year-old Alyssa Bustamante, who last week was charged as an adult with the brutal and premediated murder of a 9-year-old neighboring girl, has made national headlines. (Watch a report about Alyssa Bustamante.) The Cole County, Missouri teen allegedly dug two graves in advance, then strangled and stabbed her young victim simply to "know what it felt like" to kill. (It's unclear whether Bustamante had chosen a second victim.) As possible explanations surface, media observers and members of the community remain shocked that a young girl would commit such senseless violence. But the Bustamante incident is hardly unprecedented. Here are 8 more cases of young female thrill killers:

found. Following a “sensationalist” trial in which the girls were
alleged to be lovers, both were sentenced to five years in prison. The
story inspired the 1994 film, “Heavenly Creatures,” starring Kate
Winslet. Today, Hulme is a successful crime novelist who writes under
the name Anne Perry.
Mary Bell (1968)
At
only 11 years old, Mary Bell strangled two local boys—aged 3 and 4—in
her hometown of Newcastle, England. After killing the second child, she
carved the letter "M" into his body with a razor. Her stated motive was
the "pleasure and excitement"
of killing (though Bell said later that, as the child of a prostitute,
she had been sexually abused from a young age). She was released from
prison in 1980 and today lives under a new identity.
Brenda Spencer (1979)
"I
just don't like Mondays," 16-year old Brenda Spencer notoriously
replied when asked why she attacked an elementary school near her San
Diego home. Shooting sniper-style with a semi-automatic rifle her
father had given her for Christmas, she wounded eight children and a
police officer and killed two adults. Her stated dislike of Mondays inspired a hit song penned by Bob Geldof for his band, The Boomtown Rats.
Diana Zamora (1995)
As
a first-year student at the prestigious Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD,
Diana Zamora was arrested for killing 16-year old Adrienne Jones, a
romantic rival, during her senior year of highschool. With help from
her then-boyfriend, Zamora had lured Jones into a car and brutally attacked her with a metal weight to "appease" Zomora's jealousy. Zamora is now serving a life sentence.
Wendy Gardner (1994)
When
she was 13, Wendy Gardner and her 15-year old boyfriend plotted to
murder Gardner’s grandmother by strangling her with a yo-yo string.
After perpetrating the unlikely crime, the couple celebrated with "a three-day orgy
of sex and junk food." Both were later convicted for the murder, and
Gardner — who lived in Ulster county, NY, at the time of the crime —
received a sentence of seven years to life.
The "Vampire Clan" killings (1996)
A Eustice,
Florida couple were the unlucky victims of teen vampire enthusiasts.
Chastity Keesee, 17, and Dana Cooper, 20 — led by their “Vampire Clan”
cult “sire,” 17-year-old Rod Ferrell — participated in the murder of
the couple, the parents of another cult devotee’s parents. In keeping
with the vampire cult's rituals (which also required members to drink
each other's blood), the victims were beaten to death with a crowbar.
Ferrell was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to death
(later commuted to life without parole). Keesee and Cooper were both
found guilty of third-degree murder.
“Collie Killers” (2006)
Australians were shocked by the case of two 16-year-old girls who decided they “felt like”
brutally murdering one of their friends by stuffing her mouth with a
chemical-soaked cloth and strangling her with a wire in the remote
coal-mining town of Collie, Western Australia. While testifying, the
girls — whose names have never been publicly released — recalled that
their struggling victim called them "freaks" as she died, but neither
expressed remorse. In 2007, both girls were sentenced to life in prison.

Bustamante, 15, has been charged with the first-degree murder of nine-year-old Elizabeth Olten. She has been charged as an adult in the stabbing, strangulation, and throat-slitting murder of Olten on October 21, 2009.
Below you will find an excellent video interview conducted by St. Louis
NBC-affiliate KMOV Channel 4's Mark Schnyder with Meyer. The shorter
packaged interview can be seen here.
The longer, uncut interview below, however, is by the far superior of the two.
In it Meyer talks about her former friend, Bustamante. She mentions
that they once used to go to birthday parties together. Lately,
however, Bustamante wanted to go to drug parties.
Meyer talks about Bustamante's strict grandparents and also how the girl would get mad at people.
Jennifer Meyer speaks about her friend and alleged murder suspect Alyssa Bustamante
Meyer also expands on her comment about wanting Bustamante to kill
another person and that the comment was made at Bustamante's own
birthday party in January 2009.
Meyer also claimed that Bustamante hit her sister, Emma, and also wanted to see her and her little brothers hurt.
In trying to make sense of her friend's allegedly murderous deed, Meyer stated, "Everyone has their own kind of strangeness." She added, however, "I don't think anyone can be forgiven for that."
Meyer succinctly closed with, "Murder is a very serious thing. I think she deserves what's coming to her."

The front of Annette Sykes house is beginning to look ready for the holidays. There are Christmas lights around the sides of Haleigh’s great-grandmother’s home, as well as red ribbons on all the trees. Those ribbons have been there long before the lights went up. They serve as a constant reminder that this family will never be whole until Haleigh is home.
“Without her here---it just won’t be the same,” said Sykes.
Annette
says a typical Thanksgiving when Haleigh was home would consist of
everyone going to a family member’s house, eating, and enjoying each
other’s company.
“She would be at her Papa Jeff’s…he always
cooks a big Thanksgiving dinner…just enough to feed an army basically.
She’d be there with the other grandchildren, playing around, screaming
and hollering. You know, basically having a ball,” said Sykes.
This
Thanksgiving, the family will not be together. Annette says she may
stop by her daughter’s house. She says Haleigh’s father Ronald is
spending the holiday with friends. She says it’s sometimes easier for
him to cope with memorable days like Thanksgiving without family around
because they remind him too much of Haleigh.
“We try not to say
anything with Ronald around because he’s so torn up. He just saying he
doesn’t know how he’s going to get through it. And I can understand
why,” said Sykes.
“It is really, really hard for him. He
desperately wants his little girl back. He needs her and I know she
needs him. I know how close they were, she’s daddy’s girl and she needs
him back,” said Sykes.
Annette said anytime there is a holiday
or special day that was memorable, it is very difficult for everyone
who knew Haleigh. But, she says the worst has yet to come because
Christmas was Haleigh’s favorite holiday.
“All holidays are
terrible…but with Christmas coming up, you know, that’s a kid’s special
time anyway. If Haleigh’s not here it won’t be Christmas,” said Sykes.
Annette
made a plea to whoever has any information in the abduction of Haleigh.
She said she doesn’t so much care about punishing whoever did it. She
just wants Haleigh home.
“The main the thing that we want and
have wanted for months now is just for Haleigh to be home. We had hoped
that by now we’d have a really great thanksgiving with her here with
us”, said Sykes.
“Please have a heart, have a soul, have a
conscience, whatever it takes to bring our baby back home to us. Her
dad needs her desperately. Her brother needs her, we all need her, and
I know she needs us. I don’t care anymore, we just want Haleigh
home…it’s not that we wouldn’t like to see them punished, but if we can
get Haleigh back, I don’t care. We need her back. We want her back more
than anything,” said Sykes.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office
says it continually conducts interviews with potential suspects in this
investigation. It says the reward to bring Haleigh home is $30,000. If
you have any information that can lead to Haleigh Cummings, call the
Putnam County Sheriff’s Office at 386-329-0800. You can also remain
anonymous and call in tips to Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at

I was thinking on the subject of blended families (because the majority of relationships are divorcees) and started reading a book on blended families (Becoming One Family: Bringing Blended Families Together). While I'm not in a relationship that I would consider serious or anything like that, I at least recognize that at my age, the likelihood that I would be in a relationship with a man where they did not have any children are slim to none (and really not a problem for me as I love children and large families).
Anyway, I am counting the cost and trying to determine how (if it should come to that) to make a second marriage work (if I would ever choose to be in one... and the jury is OUT on this one... lol). With the high rate of divorce in second or more marriages, how does one ensure that their family becomes a healthy blended one (and not one where you're taking care of your kids and he his). So my question to you all would be...
1) If you've been in a relationship and/or had children with a man / woman that you weren't currently with, do you think it's possible to have a blended family work as if the children were your natural born children?
2) If this is something you'd like to see, what steps would you take to ensure that you bonded with your step children or made this type of family a reality for you?
3) Who should discipline the children if they are not your biological children?
4) How long do you think it would take for the family to operate as a healthy blended family?
Ok... this concludes my line of questioning but I just wanted to get some discussion around this as our children are in dire need of guidance, love, nurturing from both male and female adults in their lives.
"It was deja vu all over again," said Bob Longo, news director for WESH-Channel 2.
During the following days, the pack of satellite trucks parked near Haleigh Cummings' home in tiny Satsuma rivaled the media turnout after Caylee's remains were found in December near her home in east Orange County.
But soon, reporters on the latest missing-little-girl story began leaving Satsuma.
It wasn't deja vu after all.
Haleigh's story is fading after three weeks, but the Anthony saga has remained in the headlines for almost eight months.
The contrast between the tents and trailer in Satsuma where Haleigh's family pleaded for her return and the Anthonys' suburban home points to one of the reasons Haleigh's story is fading from the headlines, said Roy Peter Clark, senior scholar at the Poynter Institute.
"I think the greatest difference between the Caylee story and the Haleigh story is social class," said Clark, whose institute is a school for journalists in St. Petersburg. "I don't believe that working-class Americans get a very fair shake in the news media in general."
Only a handful of reporters remain in this isolated community north of the Ocala National Forest — even though investigators said Haleigh was abducted and they think she is alive.
Expect more coverage in the months leading up to October's trial for Caylee's 22-year-old mother, Casey Anthony, who is accused of killing her daughter.
"Any missing child is a tragedy and a cause for great alarm and concern," said Bob Jordan, news director for WFTV-Channel 9. "Every one of those kids is news, but that does not translate into equal news interest."
Photos of a scantily clad Casey Anthony, reports about her romantic life and the stories she told about a nanny who abducted her daughter — a story investigators don't believe — are drawing readers.
So are other details, including the serious charges against the young mother, frequent courtroom battles and the behavior of her parents, George and Cindy Anthony.
The photos and videos of Caylee also captivate viewers.
The case also has provided bizarre twists and turns, beginning when Casey Anthony was arrested after claiming Caylee had been missing for 30days.
"When she was questioned about that, her effect was so flat and unemotional that it called our human experience into question," veteran Orlando defense attorney Cheney Mason said.
Then, Mason said, a "circus" ensued: California bounty hunter Leonard Padilla injected himself into the situation. Casey Anthony was in and out of jail. Protesters routinely amassed outside the Anthony home demanding justice.
"There is constant fuel for the fire," Mason said.
The Haleigh case hasn't offered as many twists and turns. News crews scrambled recently after cadaver dogs hit on a scent in a dumpster. But the container was searched and nothing was found.
Most media coverage of Haleigh's disappearance has revolved around her family's pleas for her safe return.
"The return of Haleigh is the most important thing, but we also have a crime involved somewhere with her disappearance," Capt. Dick Schauland of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said.
"We're trying not to jeopardize the criminal investigation or possible future prosecution."
For Orlando media, coverage also has been hampered because Satsuma is far away — a two-hour drive for some — and because Putnam County isn't considered part of its market.
Jordan, WFTV's news director, and Steve Hyvonen, news director for WKMG-Channel 6, had different opinions about the Anthony case: Hyvonen said that the story continues to generate strong ratings and that WKMG viewers are clamoring for more coverage, while Jordan said his station is no longer seeing the rating spikes that occurred early on in the case, and that he thinks viewers might be getting sick of the story.
The directors said their stations have received little viewer feedback about the Haleigh story.
"We have been up there just because it's such a significant story," Hyvonen said.
"But as each day goes by without a new development, it get a little lower as far as where it plays in the newscast."

It is being reported
that Croslin Sr. got approximately 300 Oxycodone and Hydrocodone pills
from three different doctors between April and May 2009. That is a lot
of pills for that period of time for one person to have if you ask me.
Apparently none of the doctors knew about Croslin having prescriptions
from other doctors at the time. It is said that this practice is known
as doctor shopping which is considered a third-degree felony. His bail
has been set for $7500.
As we all know Hank’s daughter, Misty Croslin, who is the last
person to have seen Haleigh Cummings, has given authorities a lot of
inconsistent statements on what happened the night they reported little
Haleigh Cummings missing on February 10, 2009. Since there is still so
much about that night that needs to be clarified the Putnam County
Sheriff’s department are planning on questioning Croslin Sr. about
Haleigh’s disappearance to see if there is anything he knows that they
don’t already know about. They have said that his arrest Tuesday is in
no way related to the investigation of Haleigh Cummings.
I
know some will say this news has nothing to do with finding Haleigh,
but does it? Perhaps one day when the right one gets arrested they will
finally crack or slip and tell something that will help the
investigators put that final piece to this puzzle together and find out
where Haleigh is.
I still can’t convince myself that this precious little girl is gone
forever. My heart keeps telling me someone has her and is taking care
of her. Maybe it is because as a mother I just can’t accept she may no
longer be alive but I still feel she is and I pray to God that my
feeling is right. If I am wrong she still needs to be found where she
can be laid to rest properly. We need to know what happened to Haleigh.
Is she lying in the swamps somewhere? Is she being held prisoner
somewhere and bad things happening to her? Was she sold to someone? If
she is alive is she being well taken care of? We want to shout out to
the world… WHERE IS HALEIGH?
Keep her in your prayers as well as all the other children in my
list which includes Caylee Anthony (found dead), Adji Desir (remains
missing), Haleigh Cummings (remains missing), Somer Thompson (found
dead), Elizabeth Olten (found dead) , Masaraha Ross (remains missing),
Alex Mercado (drowned) Rebecca Marie Allen (found alive), Sandra Cantu
(found dead), Anthony Holland (found alive), Shaniya Davis (found
dead), Hassani Campbell (remains missing), Giovanni Gonzalez (reported
dead), Neveah Buchanen ( found dead) and Shannon Dedrick (found alive)
and now Angel Miguel Perez (found safe).
When I sit down to eat Thanksgiving Dinner tomorrow I will be
thinking about these children and their families. I will be praying day
after day for them but I will say a special one for them tomorrow.
Simon and I would like to wish each and every one of you and your
families a very Happy Thanksgiving. Don’t forget to tell your children
you love them and give them a hug.

Authorities in Putnam County want to interview Hank Croslin Sr., 41,
about what he knows about the about events the night Haleigh was last
seen, the Gainesville Sun is reporting.
The girl, then 5, vanished in Febuary.
The elder Croslin was arrested Tuesday and accused of "doctor shopping," the newspaper said.
"Even though this arrest is not related to their case, investigators in the Haleigh Cummings investigation intend on questioning Hank Croslin Sr. to determine if he has any knowledge of the events that took place the night Haleigh Cummings went missing," the Putnam County Sheriff's Office reported in a statement Wednesday, the newspaper said.
Although it is the Thanksgiving long weekend we will be running our
regular Sunday program to look at the events in the search for missing
Florida child Haleigh Cummings.
The panel is still being finalized but on the ‘for certain’ list is
Simon and Jan Barrett, ace reporter for WSKY 97.3 TJ Hart, and
investigator William Cobra Staubs. I am also hoping that we will be
joined by crime writer Denny Griffin and investigative journalist Levi
Page.
Another of the Croslin family found themselves under the bus this
week. Hank Croslin Sr. was arrested on charges of doctor shopping. It
is alleged that he obtained over 300 tablets of oxycodone and
hydrocodone from at least three different doctors. The interesting
aspect of this is that the arrest was made by FDLE rather than PCSO.
While there may be no significance to this, one has to wonder the
rationale. FDLE have stated that while Hank Croslin Sr’s activity has
nothing to do with the search for Haleigh Cummings they will take the
opportunity to talk to him about the case.
Scuttlebutt that hit my radar today concerns father Ronald Cummings,
one would think that in his time of loss he would seek solace in his
family, apparently though he opted to avoid his family on Thanksgiving.
Does Crystal Sheffield have a new MySpace page? If she does, then things may not be well in her relationship with Chad.
Was the comment left here on BNN really by Teresa Neves? The jury is
out on that one. It certainly came from the heart, and if it is
legitimate it was truly a plea with feeling and we here at BNN heard
you loud and clear.
It was also pleasing to see that the Nancy Grace program gave 15
minutes to the the story on Thanksgiving Day, while the cast left
something to be desired, at least the subject was given some air time.
And for that we should be grateful.
Haleigh Cummings has been missing since February, Law Enforcement
maintains that her disappearance was not a stranger abduction. A family
member or close friend had to have been involved. But who? None of us
in the press are privy to the investigation, in fact extracting
information from them is akin to having a root canal performed by
someone with a Black & Decker power drill.
I am sure that Law Enforcement is as frustrated as we are. I’ll make
an offer that I have made before. Give us something to chew on. We can
shake the trees, and that is what is needed.
There are several of us in the press that will not let this case become cold. Lets try and resolve the Haleigh Cummings mystery.
Another subject that we will be discussing is the capital murder
case against Casey Anthony. Casey Anthony is accused of killing her
young daughter Caylee Anthony. Although her defense team make mumbling
noises about how they are being paid, or if indeed they are being paid
at all. One thing is very clear, money abounds. Who is the money bags
paying for this defense? I have some theories, but, at this stage I
think that I will avoid that subject.
One of the ‘esteemed’ defense lawyers is Andrea Lyon. Ms Lyon brags
that she has never lost a Capital Crime case. This is good for the
defendant, but maybe not so stellar for the family of the deceased.
Earlier this week a story surfaced, Ms. Lyon was giving a lecture, and
explained that there are:
Always killers on the jury, and there are some, the ammunition they need to go after people… juries go about persuading people to kill.. and protect your live people from the killers.Oops, that was not the smartest comment to make. Ms. Lyon managed to get the story yanked from the news site involved. But the sentiment was clear. Justice is not about fairness or the truth, it is about finding ways to weasel your client out of trouble.

were shot to death and the man who fired the weapon is on the loose.
According
to police reports, 17 family members were at the home when gun shots
were fired at approximately 10:00 p.m. Paul Michael Merhige is 35 years
old and accused of killing four family members, including his six year
old cousin, Makayla Sitton who was asleep in bed. Merhige is also
accused of killing his twin sisters, Carla and Lisa Merhige, 33, and
his aunt, Raymonde Joseph who was 76 years old. Paul Michael Merhige is
accused of going on a shooting rampage that killed the four family
members and injured his brother-in –law Patrick McKnight.
Jupiter Police Sgt. Scott Pacarella told reporters that Merhige is
resentful and at one point left the Thanksgiving dinner before
returning later with the gun and executing his bloody rampage. The
youngest victim, 6 year old Makayla Sitton is the daughter of a WPTV
photojournalist, Jim Sitton.
WPTV News has set up a tribute site to their co-worker’s daughter where messages may be left.
Click here for a slideshow of Makayla Sitton with her parents.
Makayla's parents were in the home at the time of the rampage but were
not injured. Reports state that Patrick McKnight was taken to a
hospital but his condition has not been made public.
Lisa Merhige, one of Paul’s twin sisters was pregnant, though police have not released how far along she is.
Police are currently searching for Paul Michael Merhige and those in
the Tampa Bay area and all of Florida should be on the lookout for him.

"In fact, I was going to call them yesterday to wish them Happy Thanksgiving, but I didn't do it," he said.
Sanchez said only Mehrige's parents, Michael and Carole, lived in the house, and the three children often visited.
"A friend of mine called this morning to tell me about this and I said that can't be true," said Sanchez, who is originally from Peru. "But he said it was. I began to cry and then I began to pray. In don't understand what happened.
"They are wonderful people," he said of the parents. "The fact is with this they have lost all three of their children all at the same time and I can't imagine how painful that must be for them. The fact that the twin sisters came into life together and then died on the same day too; my God!"
Merhige was an honors student at the University of Miami in the early 1990s, joining the school's Alpha Lambda Delta honor society, according to Miami Herald archives.
At the Gulliver Preparatory Academy, he was an top scholar on the national Advanced Placement (AP) test and graduated with a 5.16 grade point average. He also earned scholarships while on the football team, kicking a winning 45-yard field goal in September 1991 to beat rival Westminister Christian, and played on Gulliver's baseball team as well.
In 1986, the Miami Herald reported, Merhige, then an 11-year-old catcher, was one of 16 players from three South Florida Khoury Leagues to play a series of games in Japan.
Today, Sanchez called Paul Merhige "a conflictive person."
He said he had done work for Paul at his apartment in nearby Coral Gables.
Lisa Knight joined Coldwell Banker Real Estate as a Realtor-Associate in August 2007, according to her page on the Linkedin business social network. She previously worked for Miami-Dade County courts before obtaining her MBA from from the University of Miami.
"Lisa is truly a gifted person with the talent to make anyone around her smile," Jackye Clayton, who had worked with Lisa Knight, said on a Linkedin recommendation. "She is smart, honest and loyal. I have never met someone so brave with such poise and grace."
Sanchez said Carla worked for the county, possibly in foster care.
He said he last saw Paul about five days ago at the parents' house but sensed no problems between them.
Sanchez said he was told by his clients in the neighborhood that police started knocking on doors on the street at about 5:30 a.m. Friday.
" I guess they were looking for Paul."
No Florida public records indicate Merhige has been involuntarily committed.
Under Florida law, anyone with a history of being involuntarily committed to a mental institution, or judged incompetent or mentally defective, from obtaining a firearm permit.
But the law is silent about people voluntarily treated for mental illness.
First On Fox: Tax Lien Put On Gosselins
Couple Owes Money On House
Scott Bomboy and Paul Ruppel, MyFoxPhilly.com
PHILADELPHIA - The tax man is after Jon and Kate Gosselin in Lancaster County over a $2,700 unpaid water bill.
Court records show the county has placed a tax lien on the Gosselins’ house on Andrew Avenue in Elizabethtown, Pa.
The municipal tax lien was filed in the Prothonotary Office for $2,691.75 plus fees and interest for a “water tapping fee” in Upper Mount Joy Township.
According to the couple's arbitration agreement, Kate Gosselin is responsible for paying for water and sewer bills out of a joint checking account. This is a different account that Jon Gosselin was accused of withdrawing money from.
The same agreement says the couple has a $15,000 a month debt obligation related to their two houses and each parent must contribute $7,500 a month.
The house was built in 2006 for Jon and Kate Gosselin, but they bought a second house last year in Wernersville, Pa., for $1.1 million without selling the house in Lancaster County.
The Elizabethtown, Pa., house is still on the market.
Both Jon and Kate Gosselin are defendants in the case.
In October 2009, MyFoxPhilly.com first reported that the family also may have a mortgage on the Elizabethtown house, according to county records.
The brick Cape Cod in Elizabethtown, Pa., was bought by the Gosselins for $280,000 in 2006.
According to Lancaster County deed and mortgage records, the mortgage on that house was $193,000 from the National City Mortgage, and the mortgage obligation was for Jonathan and Katie Gosselin (not a family trust).
The most-recent check of county records show that the mortgage has not been satisfied, as of October 5.
The documents for their current houses were filed in Berks County in October 2008.
Their current $1.12 million estate in Wernersville, Pa., was actually purchased in the name of estate lawyer William R. Blumer as part of a Revocable Trust Agreement last October.
The trust is registered to the same address used by Jon and Kate Gosselin in their divorce case. Such a purchase by a trust is common in estate planning when couples wish to avoid probate issues.
But the 6,000 square-foot house and its 24 acres weren’t paid for entirely in cash in October 2008. There is a mortgage that is quite substantial.
The mortgage with Susquehanna Mortgage is also in the name of the estate and it is for $720,000 over 10 years.
As of October 5, the mortgage had not been paid off.
It is unknown if the Gosselins or the trust paid into the principal on the loan in the past 12 months
